1. About this service

  • These Terms of Service relate to psychological therapy services provided by In Search of Me Ltd and delivered by Pip Williams, Counselling Psychologist.

  • Therapy is offered to adults and is a collaborative process aimed at increasing understanding, psychological flexibility, and wellbeing.

2. Nature and limits of therapy

  • Therapy does not offer guaranteed outcomes, and specific results cannot be promised.

  • The pace, direction, and focus of the work are shaped collaboratively and may change over time.

  • Therapy is not a substitute for emergency or crisis services, and appropriate support should be sought in urgent situations.

3. Suitability and responsibility

  • Clients are responsible for deciding whether therapy feels appropriate for them at any given time.

  • Any concerns about suitability can be discussed openly as part of the therapeutic process.

  • Where appropriate, referral to other services may be suggested.

4. Professional standards

  • Therapy is delivered in accordance with professional, ethical, and legal standards, including those of the HCPC.

  • Clinical supervision is used as part of safe and ethical practice. Any material shared in supervision is anonymised.

5. Online therapy and location

  • Therapy may be delivered online or in person, depending on what has been agreed.

  • Therapy is provided from the UK and governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • Clients are responsible for ensuring that receiving online therapy from a UK-based practitioner is appropriate in their location.

6. Confidentiality

  • Therapy is confidential, with important limits.

  • Confidentiality may be broken where there is a serious risk of harm to you or others.

  • Confidentiality may also be broken where there is a legal obligation to disclose information.

  • These limits will be explained and, where possible, discussed with you before any disclosure is made.

7. Communication and boundaries

  • Communication may take place via the secure practice management system and by email.

  • Therapy sessions are the primary space for therapeutic work.

  • Contact outside sessions is generally limited to practical matters such as scheduling. Email may also be used to share brief reflections, session materials, or agreed tasks between sessions. However, email is not used for ongoing therapeutic work.

8. Fees, payment, and cancellations

  • Fees, payment arrangements, and cancellation terms are set out separately in the Payment & Cancellation Policy.

  • By engaging in therapy, clients agree to those terms.

9. Changes to services or terms

  • These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time.

  • The most recent version will always be available on the website.

10. Governing law

  • These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
